Design AI for My Community: A Case Study of Collaborative Learning in a Freedom-to-Read Summer Camp

We report a summer camp case study where students collaboratively designed AI to protect the freedom to read. Activities transferred AI literacy into higher-order skills (apply/create), empowering youth as advocates for equitable, community-aligned technologies.
